PRESS RELEASE
3 September 2020
Today, the European Commission published in the Official Journal of the EU the final versions of the regulatory technical standards relating to Securitisation Data Formats and Securitisation Repositories:
https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=OJ:L:2020:289:TOC
All EU and UK public securitisation Issuers must by law report data and documentation into regulated Securitisation Repositories ('SR') from the point at which such SRs are authorised.
As a consequence:
- UK and EU issuers responsible for public securitisations issued since 1 January 2019 will need to begin reporting their data in accordance with new format templates from 23 September 2020 onwards.
- ESMA as relevant EU regulator will begin accepting applications from prospective Securitisation Repositories from 23 September 2020, with the FCA facilitating a parallel process for the UK.
- The management team behind EuroABS has implemented a restructuring of the business and set up SecRep Ltd and SecRep B.V. as two newly established, independent companies that can provide all required Securitisation Repository services in the UK and the EU.
EuroABS announces that Ben Bates will join SecRep Ltd as CEO. Darren Nesbitt will take over as the new CEO of EuroABS. Harmen van den Hondel has been appointed as CEO for SecRep Europe:
Ben Bates: "I am very excited to start as CEO of SecRep Ltd, creating choice for our Issuer clients and providing them with the most efficient and high quality securitisation repository services."
Darren Nesbitt: "It is a great opportunity to lead EuroABS in exciting new times and I look forward to working with our Issuer client-base across the UK and Europe, providing them with the highest quality modelling work for STS and Bank of England specifically and providing uniquely designed risk mitigating solutions."
Harmen van den Hondel: "I am delighted to take up the role of CEO at SecRep B.V., an organisation building on years of experience and knowledge in structured finance, providing Issuers in the European securitisation markets with choice and the highest quality of service."
